The Birdhouse looks cold and dormant right now, but soon things will get busy again. I made this Chickadee House a few years ago. It attracts them like crazy. Each year they raise their chicks in late May. 2009 they raised 2 batches. Surprised me.

The hole is 1 and 1/8 inches. Nothing else can get in. Sparrows try but can't get through it.

This is the chick Robin that has just gotten itself a worm. You can see that it has not yet lost all of its baby feathers, as one white one is clearly visible. I believe those feathers are called down feathers.
